It will help you quickly get information about scientists, such as their latest publications, their research interests, grant funding and collaborators. This information can help you to qualify a lead or prepare for a sales meeting without leaving Salesforce. How to get access to Salescope? You can find Salescope wherever your Salesforce administrator has enabled it. Generally, it will be enabled on your Lead and Contact pages, but there are potentially other places where you can find Salescope. Papers and Grants The papers and grants tabs give you a chronological overview of the academic activity of the scientist. You can sort and filter the results using the controls on the top of the page: Sorting and Filtering For papers you can filter by institute and fields of study. Automatically Adding Leads Salescope allows you to add leads to Salesforce without any manual data entry. You can add a lead - if it does not yet exist in the system already - by clicking on the "Add Lead" button. After a short load, the button will change into a "View Lead" button, which allows you to navigate to the lead page immediately. The newly created lead is automatically pinned. Company and competitor mentions You can search through papers and grants for the names of your company and your competitors, as well as their various brands and product names. You will see a chip on papers and grants for which a match is found in their text bodies. In practice, you only have to set this up once, but you can always update your settings. You might not have access to Scitodate's primary platform Market Landscape. This platform lets users create custom queries called segments. These can be built using the Segment Lab, an easy to understand query builder. Visit the Segment Lab helpdesk article to learn more about segments. Pinning Scientists Pinning a scientist creates a link between the Salesforce lead and the Scitodate scientist. This is a little bit of manual work, but certainly is worth the effort. Collaborators Salescope has a dedicated page for the collaborators of an author. These can be sorted by their total number of papers and the number of collaborations (papers co-authored with the scientist being viewed). Furthermore, you can filter out collaborators that are not currently working at the same affiliation as the scientist. The collaborators page shows one card per collaborator. Search Page The search page allows you to search through the Scitodate database to find the scientist you are interested in. You can enter the scientist's name in the "Name" input field. You can also enter the affiliation - usually a university - to narrow down the search. The input fields are automatically filled in if you have set the "Name" and "Company" field on the Salesforce record.
