What is Intelliscope?

${youtube}An introduction to Intelliscope Intelliscope is Scitodate's Google Chrome browser extension for scientific lead enrichment. Once you install Intelliscope, you will have access to detailed information on scientists. This information includes contact details, papers, grants, collaborators, institutions and mentions (where key terms like competitor names and products which are mentioned in papers).

Intelliscope provides this information in a handy sidebar that you can view while you browse the web. It will be available on any page you visit, so you always have the most up to date information at hand.

How to install?

Click on the "Add to Chrome" button to install the application.

Segment Lab

The Segment Lab is the heart of the Market Landscape. You use this module to create segments which in turn help you to look at the data that is relevant to you. A segment is a set of terms that can be used across the whole platform to search through the Scitodate data. The search engine of Market Landscape can search for these keywords in the title, abstract, body and keywords of scientific papers. Alternatively, the terms can be applied to search in the data Scitodate has on grants, such as the title or abstract of the grant. Therefore two types of segments exist: Paper and Grant segments.

Grant segments are only applicable to grants

Creating Segments

You can create a segment by going to the Segment Lab, by clicking on the "Segments" button at the top of the screen. From there, follow these steps:

Click on the "Add new segment" button
Enter a name for the segment. We advise to add a descriptive name that you can later use to find the segment.
Select a type from the dropdown menu next to the name input field. Two options exist, paper and grant.
Set a name for the first block. We advise to add a descriptive name that you can later use to understand the context of a matched item.
Add at least one keyword. Try a term you are familiar with.

Market Landscape: Prospector

Prospector

The Prospector is an extremely strong tool on the belt of sales and marketing teams. The module can be used to segment the academic market and find specific researchers who fit the segment you have defined. You set the prospector to different views, which each show a different type of data. The following are available:

Author
Grant
Paper
Institute

Filters

You will have access to many different filters that you can apply to only retrieve results of your interest.

Generic filters

Segments, include or exclude results matching a specific segment. A dropdown with options will appear once you start typing.
Lists, include or exclude the items in a list. A dropdown with options will appear once you start typing.
Institutes, include or exclude institutes by name. A dropdown with options will appear once you start typing.
Countries, include or exclude results coming from specific geographical locations
Regions, include or exclude a geographical region. This is a collection of multiple countries.
Keywords, apply a search to the keywords of a paper.
Date, include only items matching a specific date range.

Authors, include or exclude authors by name.
Fields of study, include or exclude fields of study. A dropdown with options will appear once you start typing.

Scitodate Salescope is an application that runs inside of Salesforce. It will help you quickly get information about scientists, such as their latest publications, their research interests, grant funding and collaborators. This information can help you to qualify a lead or prepare for a sales meeting without leaving Salesforce.

LET'S GET STARTED

1. Go to your home page

You can access your company's Scitodate environment through a personalized URL: “yourcompany.scitodate.com”.

2. Login into your account

The previously mentioned URL will bring you to a login screen. Market Landscape is a closed platform and no registration functionality is available. Usually, your account is already created for you. You should have received an email in your inbox with instructions on how to can started. 3. Activate your session

After you login, you will see the Activate screen. Scitodate uses Multi-Factor Authentication to protect your account. An activation code has been send to your email address, please enter this code in the Activate form to access Market Landscape.

4. Start using the platform

After activating your session, you will see the Market Landscape (MLS) dashboard.

Market Landscape: Export Center

The Export Center allows you to manage and monitor your exports. You will find all exports that were created by you or shared to you and their current progress.

|| Exporting data costs credits, your workspace likely has a limited number of credits per month.

How to export

Exports can be created in the Prospector and the Market Feed and can be of different data types. Currently, the following types exist:

Paper
Author
Grant
Institute

The first steps before exporting are to apply all the filters you wish to use and check the quality of the results. Once you are satisfied, you can take two approaches to select what items you want to export:

Select 1 to 10 items from the page using the checkboxes on the items
Select a range from the export menu

The third step in the process is to fill in the export menu.

Open the menu by clicking on the "Export" button on the top of the screen.

Select one of the export types, this determines whether emails or web mined emails are included. This may impact the amount of credits that are charged.
Set a name for the export. It is best to select a descriptive name that you and your team members can recognize easily. For example: "US biomedical leads 2021"
