Intelliscope: Use Cases

Use Cases

Introduction

Here are some of our top use cases. They have been broken down into simple blocks which you can put together to serve a variety of functions. Let’s start with the basics.

Top use cases

1. Find their research interest

From the “Overview” tab, click on “Topics” to see what subjects the scientist is working on. You can also go to the “Papers” tab and click “Topics” there to see the relevant subjects for each paper written by your researcher.

2. See how competitor devices or techniques are used

Go to the “Mentions” tab. Here you will see only the papers that include the Mentions you’ve set up. You can also see where the company, device or technique has been mentioned in the paper.

If you haven’t set up Mentions, click here to see how.

3. Find the decision maker

You can determine who the decision maker is by using a few indicators. Go to the Overview tab and check out the amount of papers, funding and budget in their statistics. The higher the numbers, the more likely they are to be a decision maker.

4. Uncover the influencer

You can determine who the influencer is in a similar way. Go to the Collaborators tab and filter by “Same institute”. Check out the amount of papers, funding and budget in their statistics. The higher the numbers, the more likely they are to be a decision maker.

5. Follow the money

You can find information on their budget and grants in the following tabs: Overview, Collaborators, and Institute. In the Grants tab you get a more granular look at all of that scientist’s grants.

6. Get a reference

Get a warmer introduction by using a reference. You can search for the name of someone you know by going to the Collaborators tab and searching for that person. This is a quick way to see if they are connected via their work.

7. Are they worth it?

Based on everything you discovered, you can now make an informed decision as to whether the scientist you’ve researched is indeed worth pursuing.
